Meet the Team

My name is Caroline and my background is in graphic design and business. I am founder of the 1,000km Ireland Way hiking trail (2013) and the Galway City Social club (2012). Currently I work for the Health Service and I run Weston Club part-time.

I never set out to become a Matchmaker. In 2021 I signed up with a Matchmaker who I heard advertised on the radio. Having paid quite a large sum of money I had high hopes of finding a suitable match. But, far from it. The Matchmaker did not respect my age limit or location preferences and pushed me to date up to 10 years older and men who were father than I was willing to travel (three hours away!). At a cost of €800 I was left very disappointed with the service.

After that experience I learnt that the Matchmaking industry in Ireland is completely unregulated. While matchmaking services should operate with integrity and prioritise the best interest of their clients, without specific regulations, it is difficult to enforce ethical standards or hold matchmaking services accountable for their practices.

Over 1 year later, having found no better alternatives (i.e. still single!), I decided to set up Weston Club as a social club to bring together people of a similar age and mindset to socialise and connect over activities and events. 

​Through the social club I heard about many more negative (and some positive) experiences with matchmakers. In June 2023 I launched Weston Club Matchmaking to provide a better and more transparent service.

A Matchmaking Service that Sets a New Standard

I have taken what I did not like about the Matchmaking service and done the opposite!

● I don't have a contract time limit.
I cannot predict when I will have matches but it is better to wait rather than provide you with an introduction who does not meet your basic criteria.
● I don't have a limit on number of introductions.
The number should simply be 'as many as it takes'.
● No large up-front fees.
Top-up your account as needed.
● I do not hide my prices.
I will be fully transparent. Prices for Matchmaking are on the Matchmaking page.
● No need to travel to meet a stranger.
I recommend all matches have a video-call to establish if there is a connection and good rapport prior to meeting.
​● I allow refunds.
Under the Consumer Rights Acts you are entitled to a refund or partial refund within the 14-day "cooling-off" period. Please see Terms & Conditions.
● I will not introduce you to partial matches.
I have designed custom software to determine your matches and only 100% matches will be introduced to you.

I will introduce you to people who match your Partner Preferences

Your Partner Preferences can include some or all of the following:

1. gender,
2. counties,
3. age-range,
4. height,
5. whether you are willing to date someone who has children or not,
6. whether you are willing to date someone with children over the age of 18,
7. whether you want or do not want kids,
8. body type (slim, athletic average, cuddly, extra cuddly),
9. non-smoker/vaping/smoker,
10. drinking (yes, no, occassionally),
11. drugs (yes, no, occassionally),
12. vegetarian/vegan/halal,
13. religion,
14. education level,
15. whether you are open to dating a full-time or part-time farmer.

 ***Limitations to my Service***

• I cannot match on looks, personality, hobbies or interests. To ask every person if they are also a Man United fan/dog lover/Lord of the Rings fan/gamer/rock climber etc. is just not possible. Sometimes opposites attract and I don't want to prevent two people from meeting based on my own opinion.
• My strategy is to introduce you to as many people as possible who meet your Partner Preferences. You will not like everyone. You will not be attracted to everyone. Be patient and hopefully, with time, we will have success for you. ​
